Rakuten Symphony Adds Highly-Scalable, Kubernetes-Ready Object Storage to Rakuten Cloud-Native Storage Platform
Rakuten Symphony, Inc. announced the addition of object storage to the Rakuten Cloud-Native Storage Platform. Kubernetes-ready, highly scalable and cost effective, object storage brings greater durability, flexibility and simplification for managing large volumes of data in use cases including data lakes, cloud-native storage, and machine learning. Object storage will be generally available to any Rakuten Cloud-Native Storage customer in May 2025.
"Data storage and management is becoming increasingly challenging to industries operating in dynamic cloud environments and at the edge," said Partha Seetala, President, Cloud BU at Rakuten Symphony. "To address these challenges, we're adding object storage to the Rakuten Cloud-Native Storage Platform. We're excited to bring our complete Cloud Native Storage to vital industries around the world."
“We're operating the world's first telecom edge cloud deployment with Rakuten Mobile in Japan, deploying Open RAN and core services on the cloud while serving more than 8.5 million subscribers and growing," said Ryota Mibu, General Manager, Cloud Platform Department at Rakuten Mobile, Inc. "Rakuten Cloud and its suite of solutions including cloud-native platform, orchestrator and storage enable Rakuten Mobile to run virtual network functions and cloud network functions 30 percent faster while massively reducing deployment time and costs. With object storage, we can deploy cloud-native applications and microservices faster, at a lower cost, while reaching more subscribers."
